What Do You Need on Your Author Website?

3/21/2025

Picture
Whether you're published traditionally, seeking representation, self-published, or just thinking about writing a book, you should have a website. It doesn't have to be fancy or complicated. All you need is a place that is uniquely yours outside of a third-party social media site.

One of the biggest reasons to have a website is to make it easy for potential readers, agents, and publishers to find you. It's your chance to show exactly who you are as a writing professional and share your thoughts.

Regardless of whether you build your website yourself or hire someone else to build and maintain it, there is certain content you'll want to have.

ABOUT THE AGENT:

Born and raised in Mexico, Daniela Landero (Dany, for short) moved to the United States with her parents and dog at fourteen years old. She found a home in books at an early age, which pushed her to pursue a degree in English Language and Literature from Georgetown University, as well as a Minor in Film and Media Studies. Her passion for stories translates across mediums, and she started her career writing screenplay coverage professionally (some of the movies she covered were actually made!), and assisting production companies with pre-production duties. Inevitably, her love for books called her to the world of publishing, and she joined Ladderbird with the aim of helping talented writers from marginalized communities develop flourishing careers.
