ABOUT THE AGENT: Kristen Bertoloni at Trident Media Group is open to submissions and eager to find projects she’s passionate about. Kristen is looking for commercial fiction, specifically horror, thriller/suspense, and romance. She loves captivatingly creepy stories like THE YELLOW WALLPAPER by Charlotte Perkins Gilman as well as the gothic elements of MEXICAN GOTHIC by Silvia Moreno-Garcia. Kristen is looking for horror novels with dark twists, ghosts, and romance. MORE ABOUT WHAT KRISTEN IS SEEKING: For mysteries/thrillers, Kristen is interested in ambiguous endings, contained whodunits, and twists that leave the reader guessing. She particularly admires stories like NEVER LIE by Freida McFadden and SURVIVE THE NIGHT by Riley Sager. For romance, Kristen loves second chances, beach settings, and a coming-of-age story. Stories from authors such as Carley Fortune, Emily Henry, and Christina Lauren. Kristen is also interested in crossover romance that has fantastical elements similar to Stephanie Garber’s ONCE UPON A BROKEN HEART and Rachel Gillig’s ONE DARK WINDOW. Kristen is also open to nonfiction submissions. Her interests in nonfiction lie in respectful true crime or collections of personal essays . HOW TO SUBMIT: Please send a query letter using this form. Your query should include only a paragraph about yourself, a brief plot synopsis and your contact information; it should not include a manuscript, a proposal, or any writing samples. Please do not send a manuscript or proposal until you have been requested to do so by a book agent. Trident Media Group does not accept simultaneous submissions that have been sent to other agents the agency. Please note: When we post a New Agent Spotlight, we try to make sure the agent is open to submissions at the time of posting. But as time goes by, an agent can close and open to submissions at any time. If some time has passed since this spotlight was posted, you will want to check their agency website and/or QueryManager before submitting, to be sure. Attend a Writers Conference in 2026:
