ABOUT THE AGENT: Jenniea Carter (she/her) is a literary associate to Joanna Volpe at New Leaf Literary & Media, a full service management and representation firm. Harlem born and raised, Jenniea graduated from City College of New York with a B.A. in Creative Writing and Asian Studies. With haste, she moved to Japan to explore the world outside the concrete jungle. After years of exploration, she returned home with a revitalized zeal for the literary world. Her first endeavor led her to Kinokuniya Bookstore, where she honed her knowledge of book buying, merchandising, and selling. Soon after, Jenniea found a home at New Leaf on Joanna’s team, eager to uplift and amplify marginalized voices. When she is not between the pages of a book, Jenniea can be found bingeing mystery documentaries and animation. JENNIEA IS SEEKING... “I want to laugh. I want to cry. I want strong people getting to smile in the end. I want awareness about mental health and those on the spectrum. Give me flair. Give me drama. I want LGBTQA+. I want BIPOC. And most of all I desire swagger and style… Being different isn’t a hindrance, it’s a magic wand.” You can also finds works that Jenniea admires here on her website!
