ABOUT THE AGENT: 

Barry Harbaugh
joined WLA Books in 2025. He was previously an executive editor at Spiegel & Grau, a founding senior editor of Amazon Original Stories, and an editor at Harper, the flagship imprint of HarperCollins, where he debuted writers such as Alexandra Kleeman and Robert Kolker. Books he has acquired and edited have won international awards, become bestsellers, and been adapted into TV/film by HBO (Lovecraft Country), Netflix (Lost Girls: An Unsolved American Mystery), ESPN’s 30-for-30 (When the Garden Was Eden), among others. 

Originally from Southern Indiana, he started in publishing as an intern, assistant, and fact-checker at 
Zoetrope: All-Story, The Paris Review, Harper’s Magazine, and Condé Nast Portfolio.
