Anyone who knows me (Chuck) knows that I love concerts. It's my vice. Chuck's Concert Roundup is designed to share videos of some concerts I've attended recently, and discuss my love for music and fellow musicians. America the Band. I saw them at the Taft Theatre. As I always say, I know that aging artists won't perform forever, so I am antsy to catch as many classic rock (70s and before) bands that I can, ASAP. I grew up on their big hits -- "A Horse With No Name," "Ventura Highway," and "Sister Golden Hair." The lead singer still sounds great. Harmonies impeccable. Billie Eilish. This was my daughter's idea, and her first real concert. (She had a blast.) She performed at the Heritage Bank Center. Billie was very friendly and energetic, and went around the entire rectangular stage to high-five every concertgoer in the front row. My favorites of the songs she played: "CHIHIRO," "ocean eyes," "BIRDS OF A FEATHER," and "when the party's over." Alice in Chains. I was a big fan of their album Dirt. Although lead singer Layne Stanley is long gone, they have a new lead singer, and co-vocalist Jerry Cantrell is still kicking butt. Enjoyed this group at Riverbend. My favorite AiC songs include: "We Die Young," "Would?" and "Nutshell." Smashing Pumpkins.
Siamese Dream is such an amazing album. I saw this group once before, but this experience at Great American Ballpark was better. It was better because they weren't the headliner, and had less time on the stage, and did a very disciplined job, IMO, of sticking to their best songs. My favorite SP song is "Disarm."
