FREE CONTEST FOR WRITERS!
Welcome to a First Page Contest. Contest #7 is for writers of Romance / Women's Fiction / Romantasy. If you write in this age category, keep reading and submit your work! This free contest ends on Feb. 10, 2026 [extended]. Here’s how it works: We invite an awesome literary agent to judge the contest. The agent picks the genre(s) they want to judge. Writers in that genre are invited to send in their first page as part of the competition. Winners get a fabulous critique from your agent judge. It’s free to enter. Sound good? Then let’s get to some details and rules! There are three other contests happening right now in 2025-2026 -- one for writers of Middle Grade Fiction, one for writers of Thriller / Mystery / Crime / Suspense, and one for writers of Adult Science Fiction & Fantasy. ABOUT THE AGENT: Kaylyn Aldridge has been a ferocious reader ever since she learned how to read. Growing up, Kaylyn spent almost all of her free time devouring the stacks of books she would get from the library. When she wasn't deep in a story, she would write her own. Creating worlds and characters was one of the major ways Kaylyn expressed herself. In her free time, Kaylyn loves to research underground internet subcultures. She believes that diverse perspectives are key to understanding cultures, communities, and nuances of the human experience. When she is not working or reading, she likes to feed the local magpies. KAYLYN IS SEEKING: ABOUT THE AGENT: Tianna Kelly (she/they) is an agent at Neighborhood Literary especially drawn to Queer and own voices, stories with complex emotions, unforgettable relationships, and high-stakes worldbuilding—and she’s always looking for projects that blur the line between love and disaster (in the best way). With over three years of experience in publishing marketing, she brings a sharp eye for positioning, audience, and platform. TIANNA IS SEEKING: ABOUT THE AGENT: Aiden Siobhan (they/them) graduated from UNC School of the Arts in 2023 with a Filmmaking BFA specializing in Screenwriting and Animation. Before becoming an agent, they interned at LDLA and were an Author Mentor Match mentee in 2022. When they’re not binge reading an LGBTQ+ YA novel, they work as the Art Director for two alternative newspapers, attend film festivals for their documentary projects, and go on road trips with their fiancé and dog. AIDEN IS SEEKING: ABOUT THE AGENT: Donovan Levine is an associate literary agent at Neighborhood Literary and AALA member based in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. When not doing agent work, he can probably be found at a local dive bar cheering for Philly sports teams. Donovan craves voice-driven, fly-off-the-page characters and adventurous stories, with messaging and themes relevant to the times. And he is especially seeking underrepresented voices with powerful, lived experiences. DONOVAN IS SEEKING: ABOUT THE AGENT: Kristen Bertoloni at Trident Media Group is open to submissions and eager to find projects she’s passionate about. Kristen is looking for commercial fiction, specifically horror, thriller/suspense, and romance. She loves captivatingly creepy stories like THE YELLOW WALLPAPER by Charlotte Perkins Gilman as well as the gothic elements of MEXICAN GOTHIC by Silvia Moreno-Garcia. Kristen is looking for horror novels with dark twists, ghosts, and romance. MORE ABOUT WHAT KRISTEN IS SEEKING: ABOUT THE AGENT: Diego Harrison, a literary agent at SBR Media, has 15 years experience in the publishing industry and a deep love for books across many genres. He is looking for unique voices and storytellers who he can help reach unlimited success. He is resolute in connecting his clients with the top publishers in the world, both big and small, as well as maximizing returns on works. This includes strategic partnerships and opportunities to elevate his clients to the highest financial and career gains. Diego is open to new authors as he loves to develop careers, but also enjoys working with established authors who want to fully exploit their rights and expand their brand. DIEGO IS SEEKING: WINNERS ANNOUNCED: Olivia S, Linda W-T, and Sheena H
