As an agent, Frannie is especially eager to represent authors who explore the margins of history books, both in fact and fiction. She is the secretary of the Young Publishers Association (YPA). As an author, Frannie writes historical fiction. She can be found browsing old newspapers or spouting historical knowledge at random. Her short stories have been published in North American Review and Berkeley Fiction Review, and her children’s plays are available in The Drama Notebook. FRANNIE IS SEEKING: As of August 2025, Frannie is currently seeking fiction and nonfiction for adult readership and selected young adult and middle grade titles. In all genres, queries are especially welcome from historically marginalized writers, including disabled, queer, and BIPOC authors. Frannie would like to see your historical fiction, historical fiction blended with other genres, upmarket and commercial, mystery, essays and memoirs, cooking and food ... and more! Some big wishlist items:
You can read Frannie's full wishlist here. HOW TO QUERY: Please submit all queries via Frannie's Query Tracker. Please note: When we post a New Agent Spotlight, we try to make sure the agent is open to submissions at the time of posting. But as time goes by, an agent can close and open to submissions at any time. If some time has passed since this spotlight was posted, you will want to check their agency website and/or QueryManager before submitting, to be sure. Attend a Writers Conference in 2026:
